Free Dental Camps
The Community Dentistry Department of the college, occasionally in collaboration with ENT, ophthalmology, Gynaecology and other departments of medical colleges regularly organizes free dental checkup-cum-treatment camps in the surrounding rural and urban areas. Oral health education and motivation are provided and free food, medicines, toothpaste and other special dental material are also provided at these camps. Students and interns play an active role in these camps, under the supervision of their teachers and thus the camps serve the twin objective of practical, onsite exposure to the students plus service to society. Up until now, more than 2,500 camps of this kind have been organized and the major ones among them are:
- Janma Bhoomi Jeevitha Arogya Karyakramam camp at Kuppam, AP, under the auspices of the Sai Oral Health Foundation, Hyderabad and R.V. Dental College, Bangalore, in the presence of the Sri Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister, AP.
