Health Programmes

STUDENTS HEALTH PROGRAMME:

A comprehensive health programme is available to all students. The preventive health programmes include physical examination, routine laboratory test and immunisations to maintain immunity. Students undergo a complete checkup on admission and therafter every year.

Vacation:

Students are eligible for one month (30 days) leave anually. This is arranged according to the convenience of the Hospital and the Institution.

Sick Leave:

  1. Students are entitled to avails ten days sick leave per annum on medical grounds if needed which has to be certified by a Registered Medical Practitioner authorised by the institution.
  2. Any leave taken over and above this has to be madeup by the student after the completion of every year.

PRELIMINARY TRAINING PERIOD:

The first three months of training is called Preliminary Trainign period at the end of which there will be an examination and the successful candidates will receive their uniform and continue their studies. (After completing PTS an oath-taking ceremony follows in respect of each batch of Nursing students). The failed candidates are given a second chance and if they are found unfit, they will not be allowed to continue their studies and will also not be eligible for refund of any fees paid to the Institution on their admission.

EXPERIENCE IN RURAL AREAS:

The Institution has adopted three villages for community healthcare. These villages are 3-5 KM away from the institute. Transportation is provided for the students to undergo community health training. They are guided by experienced staff who accompany the team.

The students are also participate in camps organised by the institutions twice a week and in National Health Immunisation Programmes.

HOURS OF DUTY:

Working hours are upto a maximum of 48 hours a week.

Each student has one day off during each week. Students are assigned night duty from time to time. All students are expected to spend a specific duration on night duty.
