The Sambhram Charitable Trust, a Charitable Trust, promoted by a group of professionals with an objective of promoting work oriented education, health education and allied subjects to meet the requirements of a common man, has come out with Sambhram Institute of Nursing at K.G.F. from the academic year 1992-93. Sambhram Charitable Trust has got two hospitals - one with 250 beds capacity and the other with 100 beds capacity - both situated at K.G.F. attached to the college in addition to its own 50 bedded Sambhram Hospital. Presently the Trust is running successfully a prestigious recognised dental college viz., KGF College of Dental Sciences and the Sambhram College of Hotel Management offering BHM Course, Nursing School which is a three years diploma course and also Sambhram Academy of Management Studies offering MBA, MCA, BBM, BCA and B.Com. at Bangalore.

The Sambhram Institute of Nursing is located in the Kolar Gold Fields township, a 90 minute drive from Bangalore, the Garden City of India. The campus is easily accessible and at the same time secluded enough to provide a distraction-free environment.

Bangalore is close by and a popular tourist attraction for people from all over the world. It is well connected by air, rail-road and highways to the rest of India. The nearest Railway Station is Bangarpet (6 KM) on the Bangalore - Madras route. The nearest Airport Bangalore (90 KMs). The weather in KGF is very pleasant, with temperatures rarely falling below 150C or rising above 350C.

Rainfall is moderate and spread over the months April through December.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOL:

The School prepares students for the 'A' grade Certificate examination in Nursing and Midwifery conducted by Karnataka State Nursing Council.

  1. To instil and develop in the students an aptitude for Nursing and to provide the necessary knowledge and skill to give comprehensive Nursing care to patients in all types of illness.
  2. To develop skill in recognising and interpreting intelligently the physical, mental and emotional manifestation of illness and be able to plan individual nursing care to patients based on their individual needs.
  3. To help the students to work in mutual co-operation with medical and paramedical personnel and participate in various programmes for prevention of diseases and the promotion of health in the Community.
  4. To help the students to inculcate the principles of mental hygiene and ethical and moral code involved in the practise of Nursing.
  5. To develop an appreciation of ethical and moral principles involved in the practise of Nursing.
  6. To help the students to practise and teach other principles of healthy living.
  7. To prepare students to be inter-dependent in their field to work and to become gradually independent and self-supporting financially after their training period.
  8. To develop an individual to be sensitive to the rights of others and be conscious of her/his duties and responsibilities to her/his own profession, fellowmen and the country.
  9. To help the students to develop extra curricular activities.
